Rivers Casino Philadelphia Guide and Review

Nestled in the vibrant city of Philadelphia, Rivers Casino offers a dynamic escape for those seeking entertainment and a chance to try their luck. Drawing from recent visitor experiences, this review highlights the casino's strengths, areas for improvement, and what you can expect during your visit.
Gaming & Entertainment โจ
Visitors consistently praise the ample gaming options available at Rivers Casino. Whether you're a fan of slot machines or prefer table games, there's a wide selection to choose from. One reviewer noted the "overwhelming" variety of machines, including innovative options like a craps table with a button-activated dice roll. Traditional table games such as roulette and blackjack are also on offer, providing a comprehensive casino experience.
While the variety is appreciated, some points regarding clarity and accessibility for new players have been raised. Slot machines, for instance, are reportedly "not really explained," leading to potential frustration for beginners who might lose a bit of money before understanding the game rules. Furthermore, table game minimum bets were observed to range between $15 and $60, which could be a significant barrier for those on a tighter budget or not prepared to gamble "at least a few hundreds."
Atmosphere & Comfort ๐๏ธ
The casino generally boasts a "fun" and "laid-back" atmosphere. One Saturday night visitor found it surprisingly uncrowded, contributing to a pleasant experience. The environment is described as "nice, clean," which is a significant plus. Players actively engaged in gaming can enjoy free drinks, a common casino perk.
However, there are a couple of points regarding comfort. The layout requires walking through a smoking section to reach the non-smoking machines, which was a clear drawback for one guest who appreciated reaching the fresh air of the non-smoking area. Additionally, while the atmosphere is generally good, a suggestion was made to "turn up the music" to enhance the energy. The availability of waitstaff for drinks also seemed inconsistent, with one reviewer noting only two visible waitresses on a busy Saturday, making it "hard to get them for a drink."
Dining & Amenities ๐ฝ๏ธ
Rivers Casino doesn't just offer gaming; it also provides ample food choices. Jack's Bar & Grill comes highly recommended, with one couple enjoying a "perfect evening" there. Their steak and branzini were described as "flawlessly cooked," and the garlic cheese bread was "outstanding." While the seasoned fries were slightly undercooked and the spinach could have had more garlic-lemon flavor, the overall dining experience, coupled with excellent service from staff like Kaylee and a personal check-in from Chef Ernesto, left a strong positive impression, especially on a quieter Sunday evening.
Practical Information ๐
For those driving, Rivers Casino offers ample parking both in front of the building and in a convenient garage, with the entryway leading directly into the casino. The security process for entry was mostly smooth, though one international visitor encountered a momentary delay with ID verification, suggesting staff might benefit from broader familiarity with international identification. Despite this minor hiccup, admission was granted without issue.
Overall Recommendation ๐
Rivers Casino Philadelphia emerges as a solid choice for a gaming and entertainment outing. Its vast selection of games, clean environment, and noteworthy dining options contribute to a positive experience. While minor improvements in waitstaff availability, music volume, and smoking section navigation could enhance the visit, it's clear many visitors have a great time and would "definitely return." If you're prepared for the typical casino environment and minimum bets, Rivers Casino is certainly worth a visit in Philly.
Had a good Timeโฆ and it was not crowded to be on a Saturday night. The environment was laid back. They just need to turn up the music & get more waitressesโฆ we only witnessed about twoโฆ & it was hard to get them for a drinkโฆ but all was cool.
It's a casino, a place made to transfer money from your pocket to the owners pocket. The entrance is somewhat weird.I'm from Germany and I had my german ID with me. The security put the card through their machine, and although the monitor showed visibly only green checkmarks, he had to call his supervisor and seemed to never had spoken the word 'Germany' in his life. But I was admitted nonetheless. The variety of machines is overwhelming. as is the whole atmosphere.Free drinks, while you are actively playing.Even case table games as roulette and blackjack. So far the place is nice. But the slot machines are not really explained. The first 10$ are lost, before you even get a grip on the underlying rules of the game. The tables have minimum bets between 15 and 60 $ as far as I saw.So if you are cheap, and not prepared to gamble at least a few hundreds, don't even think about it!
Today was the perfect day to visit Philly. The trip began with a stop at Rivers Casino.Ample parking in the front of the casino and in the garage. The entryway from the garage leads right to the casino.Upon entering, I had to walk through the smoking section to get to the non-smoking machines. Boy, did my lungs thank me once I hit the no smoking section. There are tons of machines for everyone's taste! I even saw a table for craps that had actually dice you could play by hitting a button.Ample food choices as well. It was a Saturday, so of course, lines were long everywhere. The wait wasn't long.Overall, it was a nice, clean environment that was fun. I would definitely return.
My girlfriend and I visited on Sunday and must say we had a perfect evening.I had a steak and my baby had a branzini both of which were flawlessly cooked. I garlic cheese bread was outstanding. Unfortunately the seasoned fries were undercooked and the spinach could have had more of a garlic lemony flavor. Kaylee was on point with our service and chef Ernesto was kind enough to come out check on us and take a picture. Maybe because it was a Sunday and kind of empty but loved our experience there and would recommend the food to anyone else.
Lost and Found was VERY helpful. Security did a great job. Organized concert, loved the seat numbers for easy seat find. Bathrooms were great soon. WON $14!
