The Nugget Casino Resort, nestled in Reno, Nevada, presents itself as a newly renovated destination for travelers seeking a blend of casino entertainment and comfortable accommodation. Recent guest experiences highlight both significant strengths and areas that warrant consideration for future visitors.
A recurring theme among positive reviews is the recent renovation of the resort, which has clearly made a favorable impression. Guests frequently describe rooms and suites as spacious, beautiful, comfortable, and well-appointed. Many appreciated the generous size of their rooms, making for a luxurious stay. The overall cleanliness of the common areas and the rooms themselves is consistently praised, contributing to a pleasant environment.
Specific mentions include:
The staff at the Nugget Casino Resort generally receive high marks for their professionalism and helpfulness. Guests noted friendly interactions and efficient processes.
However, one review highlighted a significant issue with service regarding room requests and deposit refunds, suggesting inconsistency in this area. Promptness in fulfilling requests like extra blankets was reported to be slow, and a major concern was difficulty in retrieving a security deposit post-checkout.
As a primary casino destination, the Nugget offers the expected gaming experience. Guests noted the casino floor was "not busy," which could be a positive for those preferring a less crowded atmosphere.
The resort offers a variety of dining choices, catering to different tastes and schedules:
The resort's location, right next to the freeway, was found to be convenient for some guests, with noise not being a significant bother. However, the immediate surrounding area off-property raised some safety concerns for one guest, who described it as "a little creepy at night" with "unsavory characters." This suggests a need for caution if venturing off the property alone after dark.
While many experiences were positive, a few critical points arose:
The Nugget Casino Resort appears to be a mixed bag, leaning towards a generally positive experience, particularly if one benefits from the recently renovated rooms and enjoys the casino and dining options. The friendly staff and comfortable accommodations are frequently highlighted as strong points. However, potential guests should be aware of the reported issues concerning deposit refunds, occasional room amenity oversights, and the need for caution if exploring the immediate vicinity off-property at night. For those seeking a modern and clean casino resort experience in Reno, the Nugget offers many attractive features, but it's advisable to clarify all charges and processes, especially regarding deposits, upfront.
We had the opportunity to stay at the Nugget Casino Resort for three nights in early May. We were told that the resort was newly renovated - and it showed! Our suite was spacious, beautiful, comfortable, and well-appointed. It was quite the treat to stay in such a large room during our visit. Also, the common areas were clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast at Starbucks was our go-to in the morning, but there is also a sit-down restaurant for those wanting a more leisurely breakfast.Of course, there's the regular array of casino rooms and bars.Overall, this was a very enjoyable visit and we look forward to returning in the future.
I’ve stay here for work every year for three years, and do enjoy it, especially due to its proximity to some fun places, as well as having plenty of dining options on site. However, the bathrooms need some TLC. The towels are rough and the tubs don’t drain when you shower, so you’re standing in grey water as you try to get clean. If it wasn’t for the bathrooms, I’d give this place at least four stars.
The staff were friendly and check-in and unloading was very easy. I stayed a week for a convention. The hotel is very clean and up to date. The room was nice and the staff and service are good! The location was ok, but it’s a little creepy at night if you are just off the property a bit from the hotel and I would not recommend walking alone, as there seems to be a few unsavory characters walking around that do not seem to be patronizing the hotel or casino.
Only stayed one night but my experience was good. The price, quality, and amenities made a world of difference. My room had a very nice view and I slept comfortably. I don’t gamble but it was facilitating to experience the action in the casino area. Food was also a plus. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
You won’t get your deposit back! Well, we will not be ever staying at this hotel again! It’s been four days since we checked out and we are still trying to get our deposit back. The hotel gives you a code to give to your bank and then nothing happens. They can do nothing with it. Our relative paid $300 through another site for a room with two beds and then only got one bed and not even a coffee maker. Our room did not even include blankets. We called to get some and they said it was going to be hours, and that they were busy. There was a pubic hair on our bathroom towel that was supposed to be clean. This hotel looks great from the outside, but was one of our worst hotel experiences. I still cannot believe they are so hard up for money that they would keep our deposit. They charge you extra in resort fees to call this place a resort! It’s more like a joke!
