Boomtown Casino Hotel Guide and Review

Boomtown Casino Hotel in Shreveport, Louisiana, presents a varied experience for visitors, blending comfortable accommodations with a casino floor that draws both praise and criticism. Located on the Red River, it offers a distinct atmosphere, though recent guest feedback highlights areas of both strength and significant weakness, particularly concerning its dining options and casino operations.
Casino Experience đ˛
The casino at Boomtown spans three stories, offering a range of gaming options. While some patrons describe the games as "new and fun" and found the casino atmosphere to be "fun and interesting," others noted a prevalence of "old and outdated machines" alongside newer ones. A notable point of contention is the casino's operating hours, with one reviewer expressing frustration that it "shuts down at 3 am," necessitating a move to other local casinos for continued play. On a positive note, some guests felt the slots "seemed to pay better" than at other establishments in the area. The overall vibe is considered by some to be "perfect for spending all day at the casino," hinting at a lively and engaging environment for certain visitors.
Hotel Accommodations and Amenities đ
The hotel component generally receives positive remarks for its comfort and cleanliness. Guests found the "rooms pretty nice" and particularly praised the beds as "so freaking comfortable." Cleanliness was highlighted as a strong point, with comments like "everything is clean" and "zero issues with cleanliness." The bathroom facilities were also noted as "fairly clean." While one reviewer mentioned sticky carpets in their room, they still found the room itself to be clean, suggesting a minor inconsistency rather than a systemic issue. Ample parking and reasonable rates add to the convenience for overnight guests.
Dining Options đđš
This is where Boomtown Casino Hotel receives its most polarized reviews. The Boomers Cafe is consistently praised, with one guest calling it "delicious." The bar also earns accolades for making "excellent drinks at fair prices," and the efficiency of cocktail waitresses, like Diana, was specifically appreciated. However, the recently reopened buffet is a major point of contention.
- đ Negative Buffet Feedback: Multiple reviewers described it as a "complete joke" and an "astounding waste of money." Complaints included "dry and or mush" food, limited options, and a perceived quality that was "less than what you would get at a Golden Corral with twice the price tag." One guest endured a 30-minute wait for drinks at the buffet, and the "soul food" interpretation was deemed "disgraceful."
- đ Mixed/Slightly Positive Buffet Feedback: Conversely, one review stated the buffet "wasn't too bad," noting "lots of choices" and particularly good desserts. This indicates a potential inconsistency in buffet quality or perhaps a shift in offerings over time.
Staff and Service đ
Across the board, the staff at Boomtown Casino Hotel receives commendation. Reviewers consistently found the staff to be "wonderful,""nice," and doing their jobs "great." The attentiveness of cocktail waitresses was a highlight for some, contributing positively to the overall guest experience.
Overall Impressions and Considerations đ¤
Boomtown Casino Hotel offers a stay that is often described as a "favorite getaway" for its engaging atmosphere and comfortable accommodations. While it may not be the "biggest or brightest" casino in Shreveport, its friendly staff, clean rooms, and some newer games are appealing. However, potential visitors should be aware of the strong negative feedback regarding the buffet and the early closing time of the casino floor. For those looking to casino hop, its proximity to other establishments is a plus.
It is a busted old humid casino and hotel. The carpets were sticky in the room but it was clean. Beds were comfortable. The buffet is a complete joke. 30 dollars fr us to wait 30 minutes for drinks and the best thing on the buffet was the salad. Everything was dry and or mush. It's considered soul food and that's a disgraceful interpretation of it.The casino shuts down at 3 am we had to go to another casino and it's not that much cheaper that it makes it worth staying there. As for the slots it's really old and outdated machines with some of the newer ones. They seemed to pay better than anywhere else though. I won't be returning
The buffet that recently reopened is a. Astounding waist of money. The staff are all working great their jobs are being done well so I don't want this to reflect on them. But the quality and options of food are less than what you would get at a Golden corral with twice the price tag on it.
Hands down the best casino I have ever been to. Cocktail waitresses are on point- shout out to Diana for being great to us!! The vibe and atmosphere is perfect for spending all day at the casino. One of my favorite getaways. I promise I cleaned up after my shenanigans.
The decor, design, and staff are so wonderful! Everything is clean. The Boomers Cafe is delicious! The buffet wasn't too bad. Lots of choices. The desserts were so good! The bar makes excellent drinks at fair prices. If you're not careful you'll miss it's a 3 story casino! It's not the biggest or brightest but the games are new and fun.Ample parking, reasonable rates. The bed was so freaking comfortable! Zero issues with cleanliness. It's close to Live and others if you casino hop.We can't wait to come back!
Rooms are pretty nice, didn't really stay in it much. The casino was fun and interesting, didn't win much. But I guess if we all won they wouldn't be open long. Hotel was pretty good. Staff was nice. Bathroom facilities were fairly clean. No problems that I had found.
