Sam's Town Hotel & Casino, Shreveport Review

I had a good time at Sam’s Town Casino, but there are a few things worth noting. One of the highlights was good wait staff—friendly, attentive, and quick with service.The casino features a large selection of old-school slot machines, which is great if you enjoy the classic feel. However, the overall casino area does feel a bit rundown and could use some updates to match other properties in the area.One definite plus is the parking garage that’s connected to the casino by a walkway bridge, which made getting in and out convenient and sheltered from the weather.That said, safety outside the casino can feel a little off-putting, especially at night. The surrounding area isn’t the most secure-feeling, so I recommend being cautious if you’re walking in from outside.Another interesting point—Bally’s Casino is literally right next door, which gives you more gaming options within walking distance.Overall, Sam’s Town has some charm and solid service, but there’s definitely room for improvement, especially in terms of updating the space and enhancing security outside.

I will say that the moment I walked in service was on point. I showed up almost 9:00 in the morning and I walked up to the desk handed the lady my ID and told her which room I was in and it didn't take her anytime to give me a key she was kind and asked me if I needed anything else before I left. The rooms get a 3.5. it reminded me of an old room in my grandma's house but it's roomy so you have some space to move around. And I said my grandma's house but I didn't say she didn't have any taste. So the furniture is a little oversized but it's very cozy and comfy. Plenty of places to charge. I couldn't tell if the phone worked or not. I tried to call the front desk and it was like the phone call was never going through but if you went down there there was always somebody to help you. They have refrigerators. They don't have microwaves. Bathtub is pretty big. In my room I did like how they have the toilet in its own little separate room you can shut the door.. but the side paneling around the door was peeling and if you didn't watch out you may hurt yourself because it was sharp. I can't say it's like that in every room. The furniture is weathered, but it's not terrible. This hotel really just made me feel like I was in an active household. If you understand what I mean by that. A house that always has people in it so even if you walked behind everybody every day all the time you are still going to have somewhere and tear and that's pretty much what it is but it's clean. There is a few restaurants that are in between the concierge deak for the hotel and the casino. Overall I will say that I was surprised that everything was as nice as it was because I know that this is an older hotel. I would definitely come back here again. Absolutely.

Had a issue during my stay and they were promptly taken care of after contacting and discussing the issue. It was done very professionally and did show interest in what I had to stay. The Rooms are very beautiful and a good size. I definitely would return. Also right off the Fwy.

Absolutely love this Boyd property! The rooms are spacious. The casino is lively. Even if we don’t go home winners we have a great time!More than just the facilities, the staff is what keeps us coming back. We drive almost five hours to the casino and trust me, we wouldn’t if we had poor service.Front desk staff are helpful and accommodating.Ebony at Smokey Joe’s Cafe is an amazing waitress! She always has a smile on her face and welcomes you warmly. She remembers your face and knows what drinks you are going to order. I can’t say enough about how great it is to have a server that wants you to be there!Stacey on the casino floor is a great example of a cocktail waitress! She had a huge smile and a joyful attitude. She comes around often and always wishes you good luck!The sports book staff are kind and helpful. Not being an expert at sports gambling they explain things well and help as they can.The craps dealers are awesome! They like the enjoy the customers. They encourage you and help you out if you don’t quite understand or miss something. They will joke and laugh along with you unlike many of the dealers at other casinos.Security staff is warm and welcoming.As for the four in service: The only negative review I have is of the staff and availability of the little sandwich/pizza shop. The staff seem very disgruntled. The young lady that works there never smiles and really gives you the vibe that she’d rather be anywhere but there. It is very unorganized and many of the staff we have encountered seem confused and unsure as to what is available. The little cafe doesn’t keep regular hours and when they do, very few items are available. Why keep a shop that the employees hate and that really can’t accommodate guests?Other than the experiences at the little cafe, we have an amazing time every time we visit. We hope to continue being loyal Boyd members for many, many years to come.

Wow, we spent 3 days here. The service was commendable, Smokey Joe's was delicious. We paid everybody's salary for the weekend in what we donated 😅😉 Rooms were nice but could use Spring cleaning, don't get me wrong they were clean as far as maid service but needed a deep cleaning. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was 100% the best from front desk to security! Thank you!
