DraftKings at Casino Queen, located in St. Louis, Missouri, serves as a prominent casino destination offering a blend of gaming, dining, and accommodation. Based on recent patron experiences, the venue presents a mixed bag, with some aspects shining while others highlight significant areas for improvement, particularly concerning safety, cleanliness, and consistency.
While the allure of gambling and the potential for big wins remain, the user reviews indicate that the overall experience at DraftKings at Casino Queen can be quite inconsistent. Patrons frequently commend the friendly and helpful staff, and some find the location convenient. However, concerns about safety, cleanliness, and the quality of amenities are recurring themes that detract from the overall appeal.
As a casino, the primary draw is, of course, the gaming. Guests acknowledge that, like all gambling, it's a game of chance. One reviewer mentioned winning a significant amount ($13,000), which highlights the potential for large payouts. However, the casino floor itself is noted for an uncomfortable atmosphere due to non-gambling individuals loitering. This issue not only creates an unsettling environment but has also led to confrontational situations and security concerns, even following patrons to the parking lot after a win. Improved policies to manage the gaming floor would undoubtedly enhance the experience for active gamblers.
The dining options at DraftKings at Casino Queen receive varied feedback. While some report delicious experiences, such as the "10/10" fries from the food court, a significant concern arose from the bar and grill section. One guest reported finding a large piece of plastic in their chicken sandwich, a serious issue that was compounded by management's perceived passing of blame rather than a resolution. The servers in this instance were noted as being nice, but the overall incident left a negative impression.
For guests staying overnight, the hotel experience at DraftKings at Casino Queen is highly inconsistent:
Beyond the hotel rooms, a review specifically highlighted significant issues with the associated campground. The bathrooms and showers were found to be filthy, and the laundry room messy with several machines needing repair. Despite attempts to contact management with pictures, there was no response or improvement, indicating a broader issue with maintenance and responsiveness across the property's facilities.
Perhaps the most critical feedback revolves around patron safety and security, particularly outside the main casino building:
These security issues underscore the need for immediate attention and stricter enforcement of policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all paying patrons.
To enhance the guest experience and address critical concerns, DraftKings at Casino Queen could significantly benefit from:
DraftKings at Casino Queen offers the excitement of a casino experience, complemented by generally friendly staff. However, the recurring issues concerning safety in the parking lot, the atmosphere created by loiterers on the gaming floor, inconsistent hotel room quality, and maintenance lapses in facilities like the campground are significant drawbacks. Addressing these core issues will be crucial for the establishment to provide a consistently positive and secure experience for all its visitors.
Started off GREAT. Food had always been good, but most recently I had a chicken sandwhich and fries from the bar and grill portion and pulled a huge piece of plastic out of my mouth, image below. Wasn't going to say anything but then did. They offered to comp my food, but was already comped bc of food voucher from playing. So they ended up giving us a free dessert, but idk felt like management was passing blame or trying to explain hownthat shouldn't have been possible....I don't know how it was possible either sir, but it's there, watch the cameras. Servers were nice, everything else perfect. Was really hoping to give 5 stars accross the board. We were actually celebrating my 2.5 million photo views on Google. Maybe next time. Fries in other photo were from food court when you first walk in 10/10(delicious)
We have stayed here many times, bathrooms were redone a couple years ago, laundry room and just a basic quick on quick off campground. This time the bathrooms/showers are filthy. Laundry room was a mess as well with several machines needing fixed. Emailed them about the bathrooms with pictures, no response and no improvement. Not sure if it's new management or just poor employees, or both.
Casino Review:As the saying goes, it’s called gambling for a reason—you either win or you lose. That said, my primary concern with this establishment is the insufficient lighting in the parking lot at night. While this personally does not bother me, it is evident that the lack of adequate lighting deters many patrons, both male and female. Frankly, with all due respect, it is not a financial burden the casino cannot afford to address, and improving this would greatly enhance customer safety and confidence.Another significant issue is the presence of individuals who loiter inside the casino without actively gambling. These individuals often stand around watching others play, which creates a noticeably uncomfortable atmosphere for paying patrons. On several occasions, I have experienced confrontational behavior, and once, after a $13,000 win, I was followed and approached in the parking lot—an entirely unacceptable and unsafe situation. To draw a comparison: one would not be allowed to sit at a restaurant table without ordering food. Similarly, there should be clear policies preventing non-gamblers from occupying the gaming floor. Lumière Place Casino, for instance, has taken commendable steps in tightening such policies, and this has noticeably improved the overall experience and security. In summary, there is no valid reason for people to loiter in a casino if they are not participating in gaming activities, and stricter enforcement of this policy would undoubtedly minimize unsafe situations, particularly in the parking lot. Enhanced lighting, coupled with more rigorous regulation of non-gamblers, would substantially improve both safety and the overall experience for your valued patrons.
I stayed here about a week ago while traveling through town. Everything was fine, room was satisfactory, even won a little bit in the casino. I stayed again today on my way back through, the room is quite a different story today. The carpet is all stained, it has several ripped areas, and it kinda stinks in here. Not too thrilled on this stay so far.
We recently stayed at the Draft Kings Casino Queen Hotel is located at 200 Front Street, East St. Louis, IL 62201.Our experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we walked into the room. The cleanliness was far below acceptable standards. There were visible stains on the furniture and carpet, and to make matters worse, we found dead bugs in multiple areas of the room, including the picture hanging on the wall. It was honestly unsettling. The shower was filthy — soap scum and grime had clearly been building up for quite some time, and it didn’t look like it had been properly cleaned in weeks. It made us uncomfortable using it, therefore we skipped taking a shower. The air conditioning unit was absolutely disgusting. The vent was covered in mold and had a foul, musty smell when turned on, which filled the room and made it hard to breathe. It felt like the air quality in the room was worse than being outside. For a hotel associated with a well-known name like DraftKings, we expected a much better experience. Unfortunately, the level of cleanliness and upkeep was far below what any guest should tolerate. We reached out to DraftKing customer service twice in emails as well as on DraftKings website. No responses.
