Country Club Villas in Launceston, Australia, presents a varied experience for guests, blending a stunning location with accommodation that, while clean and spacious, often feels in need of a modern refresh. While the primary type of this place is a casino, guest reviews primarily focus on the villa accommodations, highlighting both comforts and areas for improvement.
Room Comfort & Condition đī¸
Guests generally commend the cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms. For those visiting during Tasmania's cooler periods, the thoughtful inclusion of an electric warmer on top of the mattress was a particularly appreciated detail, making for a comfortable night's sleep. One reviewer found a one-bedroom apartment "perfect for our 4-day stay."
However, a consistent point of feedback across multiple reviews is the dated appearance of the villas. Descriptions such as "tired," "very old," and "in desperate need of a makeover" are common, with specific mentions that the carpets and upholstery require updating to enhance the overall inviting feel of the rooms. Practical issues also emerged: some guests reported a poor WiFi connection, leading to interruptions during online meetings, and instances of noise bleed from adjacent rooms, with next-door TVs being clearly audible.
Location & On-site Conveniences đ
The villas are set on an "amazing property" and boast a "beautiful location," providing a scenic backdrop for stays. While noted as being "a little out of town," convenience is still within reach. The presence of a Woolworths supermarket close by is a definite plus for guests looking to self-cater, especially for breakfast supplies. On-site dining is also available, with the Pizzeria highlighted as a great convenience after a day of touring.
A significant point of contention for some guests was the shuttle service to the casino. One reviewer, whose main reason for booking was the expectation of a regular shuttle to the casino (advised as leaving every half hour at booking), was severely disappointed to find it unavailable until much later in the evening. This inconsistency can be a major letdown for those planning their evenings around direct access to the casino facilities.
Overall Value & Recommendations â¨
Country Club Villas generally offers what is considered "good value for money." Its appeal lies in its clean, spacious rooms and beautiful property setting, making it suitable for longer stays or those seeking a relaxed environment. However, the recurring theme of outdated interiors prevents the experience from being "out of this world."
For travelers who prioritize a picturesque setting and don't mind traditional decor, the Country Club Villas could be a suitable choice. However, those seeking modern amenities, seamless technology (like reliable WiFi), or guaranteed casino access via shuttle service should manage their expectations or verify specific services prior to their visit. The property holds potential, but would significantly benefit from a comprehensive renovation to match its stunning surroundings.
The rooms were clean but dated. The WiFi connection was pretty poor and the zoom meeting I had to attend eventually dropped me out. Also it was noisy, you could hear the next door room TV quite clearly.
Great place to stay. Had a one bedroom apartment and it was perfect for our 4 day stay. Having the Pizzeria on site was great after a day of touring. There is a Woolworths close by to get breakfast supplies. Look forward to our next trip to Tasmania.
It's a little out of town but the rooms were spacious and clean. Not used to the cold weather, wifey was happy the bed had an electric warmer on top of the mattress.
Absolutely beautiful location but in desperate need of a makeover. Rooms are very tired. Was advised when booking in that shuttle to casino left every half hour, however when we asked at the bar, we were told that it was unavailable until 830pm that evening. Very disappointing as this was the main reason for booking đ¤ˇđŊââī¸
Country club villas are built on an amazing property but the villas themselves look very old, the carpets upholstery need a big makeover to make the rooms look more inviting! A good value for money, but nothing out of this world.
