Located directly at the Cambodia-Vietnam (Ha Tien) border crossing in Kampot, Hà Tiên Vegas Entertainment Resort primarily functions as a casino and a convenient hotel for border transit. This establishment presents a truly mixed bag of experiences, largely influenced by its unique location and varying service quality.
One of the most significant advantages of Hà Tiên Vegas Entertainment Resort is its strategic location. It is highly praised for being extremely convenient for travelers crossing between Cambodia and Vietnam, particularly on the Ha Tien side. Guests appreciate the option for multi-day parking while visiting Vietnam, making it an ideal stopover point.
For those needing a brief respite during border formalities, the resort offers a place to grab a drink and enjoy some cool air. Some visitors have reported positive interactions with staff, describing them as "really nice" and helpful, even assisting with tasks like printing visa documents free of charge at the reception desk. Vouchers for dining were also noted by some patrons.
As a casino, it offers "limited games" but can be a "decent" spot if you "fancy a game or two." The Wi-Fi is generally strong in the hotel lobby area, although it can be weaker within the casino itself.
While its location is a strong point, the hotel aspect of Hà Tiên Vegas Entertainment Resort draws considerable criticism. Numerous guests have reported significant issues with the accommodation:
Beyond the rooms, service and facility issues further detract from the overall experience:
Overall, several reviewers described their stay as the "worst place of our 3 month travel" or "absolutely not recommended," stating it was "slightly better than sleeping on the road, not by much though."
This resort is perhaps best suited for travelers who:
It is emphatically not recommended for families or those seeking a comfortable, well-serviced hotel stay. If your primary purpose is simply to pass through the border and you need a very basic, temporary roof over your head, and you can tolerate the various drawbacks, it might suffice. Otherwise, travelers should temper their expectations significantly.
Stayed here for 2 nights because the visa was not yet valid. Worst place of our 3 month travel so far. AC not working (32° celsius whole time), no one spoke english, no atm in a casino??? Food on menu not available, dirty/damaged bathroom, no warm water even during rainy season, damaged bed, way too expensive for the value. Only good points i could find is that it's right on the border and they give you vouchers for eating there. Slightly better than sleeping on the road, not by much though.
I had to wait a few hours at the border for my visa to be approved, and I came in here to get a drink and some cool air. The staff are really nice and shouldn’t give anyone trouble as long as you’re are nice and courteous and follow the rules of a casino. The WiFi is a bit weak in the casino part but in the hotel lobby it’s great. They also let me print off my visa at the reception desk for no charge
Decent hotel with limited games. It’s right by the border of Cambodia and Vietnam (Ha tien side) so it’s extremely convenient when you decide to drive your car there. They also allow multi-day parking while you’re visiting VN.
$40 per night is almost exorbitant for Cambodia. Nobody could speak English. Some of the menus on the menu weren't available, despite ordering with the menu, the wrong food was served.A masseuse who showed up straight after the meal just started massaging despite repeated no's and is then so cheeky as to want to ask for money ( she also wanted to take money out of my wallet). The entire hotel/casino is a smoking place, which you can smell very well.In the room, the bed was rock hard, the air conditioning didn't work (permanently 31°), there was no hot water for showering, the bathtub was dirty and worn... absolutely not recommended.
Pretty decent among the hotels around, price and service are relatively not bad. If you fancy a game or two, this is the place to go. Not suitable for family though. Decent food because there are no other better options nearby. Literally beside the Vietnamese border if you want to stop by for a break in your trip.
