Apo View Hotel Guide and Review

Nestled in the heart of Davao City, Apo View Hotel presents itself as a long-standing establishment with a primary focus on its casino operations, alongside offering traditional hotel accommodations. Recent guest experiences reveal a blend of comfortable stays, enjoyable amenities, and some areas that could benefit from further attention.
The Good: Comfort, Cuisine & Convenience β¨
Spacious and Comfortable Rooms ποΈ
Many guests commend the hotel for providing a comfortable stay. Rooms are often described as very spacious, clean, and filled with natural light. The beds are noted for being comfortable and large, contributing to a restful night for many. While the hotel's older structure is evident, several guests appreciated the visible renovated areas that added a nice touch to their experience.
Delightful Dining Options π½οΈ
The culinary offerings at Apo View Hotel receive positive feedback. The buffet breakfast is highlighted for its variety of options, providing a great start to the day. For dinner, the buffet is praised as "amazing," "tasty goods," and affordable, making it a popular choice for family meals. Guests also enjoyed relaxing at the Blue Room bar.
Excellent Amenities & Service πββοΈ
The hotel's amenities, particularly the swimming pool, are frequently mentioned as a great addition, especially welcome in the warm Philippine climate. The service is often described as amazing, offering good value for the price. Guests specifically expressed gratitude for staff, such as Ms. Romelyn and Ms. Justine, who went out of their way to assist with room changes, particularly for issues like hot water availability. The hotel's location and amenities generally contribute to a decent stay, with the added benefit of being near many restaurants and shops.
Areas for Improvement: Noise, Water & Expectations π§
Noise and Soundproofing Issues π
A significant concern for some guests, particularly those sensitive to noise, is the hotel's soundproofing. Reports indicate that external noise, such as concerts, can be clearly heard in rooms, and internal noise from loud neighbors is also a problem. One particularly distressing account involved a guest having to change rooms due to concert noise, only to be moved to an "even worse room" with a "loud buzzing even with the AC off," leading to an early check-out at 4 AM. The handling of these complaints by the reception was also criticized as unhelpful.
Hot Water Inconsistency πΏ
Another recurring issue for some is the hot water supply. Guests have noted having to wait a considerable amount of time (up to 10 minutes or more) for hot water to come through, leading to a problem of wasted water. While some staff members are helpful in addressing this by changing rooms, it points to a systemic inconsistency.
The Casino Presence π²
While Apo View Hotel's primary type is a casino, one guest mentioned being unaware of its presence downstairs and finding it "a bit strange to see it" upon arrival. This indicates that while it's a key feature, it might not align with all guests' expectations for a typical hotel stay and could impact the ambiance for some.
Overall Impressions:
Apo View Hotel offers a comfortable and generally enjoyable stay with its spacious rooms, good food options, and convenient location. The friendly service and inviting pool are definite pluses. However, potential guests should be aware of possible noise disturbances and hot water inconsistencies. For those looking for a hotel with on-site entertainment and a lively atmosphere, and who don't mind the occasional infrastructure quirks of an older building, Apo View Hotel could be a suitable choice. However, light sleepers might want to consider requesting a quiet room well in advance.
Apo View Hotel Davao provided a comfortable stay during our 3-day visit. While the hotel's older structure was evident, the renovated areas were a nice touch. We enjoyed relaxing at the Blue Room bar. The buffet breakfast offered a variety of options to start the day. The hotel's location and amenities made for a decent stay.
We stayed in Apo view hotel for a couple of days and enjoyed time spent there.Firstly, the room was very spacious, clean and had a lot of light.Secondly, the bed was comfortable and big. Finally, they had delicious menu and swimming pool. There were also downsides:Our neighbors were very loud and we could hear them well since sound proofing was bad.Hot water πΏ we have been waiting it for a while, all you need to do is to tap a shower and waitβ¦ after 10 minutes or so you will get hot water, but there is a problem of water wastedβ¦We didnβt know that there was a casino downstairs, but it was a bit strange to see it.Overall, our stay was great ππΌ
If pay a night in a hotel, it's to sleep.1st room: directly hearing a concert outside. Informing the reception about that, I got a blatant lie like "oh hum I'll send an assistant the problem will be solved".Sure, sending an assistant to a concert.Nothing changes ofc so I go, fuming, past midnight to the reception and ask for a change of room. They gave us an even worse room. No concert, no...but a loud buzzing even with the AC off.We checked out at 4am because we couldn't sleep. Given the price of the room, it's honestly unacceptable.
Service was amazing and which offered great value and affordable price.Everything was clean, comfortable and the pool was great addition specially when the weather is hot. There are a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. Thank you Ms. Romelyn and Ms. Justine for helping us to change our room that have water heater.
We're having our Family dinner on their Buffet which are really amazing. Prices are affordable and so tasty goods. Looking forward to dine again soon..π₯°π
