Located in the heart of Manila's bustling Entertainment City, Solaire Resort positions itself as a premier destination, primarily known for its expansive and vibrant casino. Beyond the gaming floors, it aims to offer a comprehensive luxury experience, combining upscale accommodation, diverse dining, and high-end retail options.
Many visitors are immediately struck by Solaire's opulent atmosphere. The hotel often greets guests with a distinct, signature scent that contributes to its luxurious feel, although some guests have found this aroma to be overly strong, even causing allergies. The property boasts a sophisticated design, evident from the grand entrance to the high-end boutiques at The Shoppes, which offer an upscale selection for discerning shoppers. The casino gaming area is consistently described as vibrant and energetic, living up to Solaire's reputation as a top-tier casino destination.
For those looking to unwind away from the gaming tables, the Baccarat Bar comes highly recommended as a great spot to relax and enjoy the opulent surroundings.
Solaire's hotel rooms generally receive praise for their impressive spaciousness. Even standard deluxe rooms are noted to feel more premium than comparable offerings elsewhere. Guests have the option of staying in either the Sky Tower or the Bay Tower. While the Sky Tower is often cited as offering a more luxurious experience, the Bay Tower still provides a fantastic stay with good service.
However, the guest experience regarding rooms is not without its hitches. Some reviews mention minor but inconvenient issues such as a broken toilet flush or a surprisingly small shower space. A significant concern raised by a guest who booked a Sky Suite was being charged extra for basic amenities like champagne glasses and additional towels, a practice deemed highly unusual and "substandard service" for a supposed luxury hotel.
The feedback on Solaire's service is notably varied. Many guests laud the staff and overall service as "superb" and "excellent," highlighting attentive housekeeping and helpful personnel. This positive sentiment suggests a generally high standard of service is achievable.
Conversely, critical reviews point to considerable frustrations. Long waiting times, sometimes up to two hours, for room check-in, even with prior reservations, are a recurring complaint, especially during peak periods like Holy Week. This can lead to chaotic scenes in the lobby, with a suggested need for more comfortable lounge areas, particularly for PWDs (Persons With Disabilities) awaiting their rooms.
A particularly jarring incident reported by a guest involved being questioned and asked for ID by cleaning staff while simply sitting in a public area. This interaction, which led to feelings of harassment and a "ruined" experience, starkly contradicts the expected luxury service standards and highlights a significant area for improvement.
When it comes to culinary offerings, Solaire lives up to expectations, with reviews consistently praising the "great food" and the wide variety of food choices available throughout the resort.
The resort also actively promotes engagement through its rewards program. Signing up for their rewards card, which is free, is highly recommended to take advantage of various promotions and maximize the value of your stay.
Solaire's strategic location in Entertainment City is a definite advantage. It offers convenient access to major shopping destinations such as Ayala Manila Bay and Parqal, making it an ideal base for those looking to combine leisure with retail therapy.
Solaire Resort aims for a five-star luxury experience, and in many aspects, it delivers with its impressive aesthetics, spacious accommodations, and diverse amenities, particularly its vibrant casino and excellent dining. However, inconsistencies in service, including lengthy check-in processes, unexpected charges for basic room items, and distressing incidents of staff interactions, detract from the overall luxury promise. While it remains a popular choice for entertainment and gaming, potential visitors should be aware of these reported service nuances to set appropriate expectations.
My favorite place to stay in Entertainment City – hands down! This is a true 5-star hotel experience from start to finish. From the signature scent that greets you at the entrance to the upscale selection at The Shoppes and the vibrant casino gaming area, every corner exudes luxury. Don’t miss the Baccarat Bar – it’s a great spot to unwind. The hotel rooms are impressively spacious. Even the deluxe rooms feel more premium than what you’d expect elsewhere. I’ve stayed in both the Sky Tower and Bay Tower – and while the Sky Tower feels more luxurious, the Bay Tower still offers a fantastic experience with excellent service. They also run a lot of promos, especially if you sign up for their rewards card – which is totally free! Highly recommend doing that to get the most out of your stay. The hotel is near Ayala Manila Bay and Parqal for shopping destinations!!!
The smell of the hotel when you enter was just toooo strong causes allergy 😵💫🥴We waited for 2 hrs for our room when we made reservation. We just let the kids swim while waiting...Housekeeping was superb.Food was great!
We stayed here during holyweek. Room in terms of space was very comfortable for 2 pax. Everything was properly arranged and cleaned. Only problem was the flush of the toilet seems broken and the space for shower was kinda small. Overall, service and staff were superb. A lot of food choices too. Waiting time during check in was a bit chaotic they need to add more lounge for PWDs waiting for their room to be ready during peak hours
Booked the Sky Suite for 2 night. Fantastic view. Shocked that we were asked to pay P750 to use 3 champagne glasses and P350 for each extra towel. Never encounted such with other international hotels. "Luxury" accommodations, substandard service. Definitely NOT recommend.
The employees are really rude.I was sitting on an empty couch near the Theatre. Then two employees, seemingly cleaning staff, came up and asked random questions like "Are you from Everloan?", "Please show us your ID(passport I think)"I flew here to meet some friends and have a good time, and this experience really ruined it.I wasn't dressed properly that time because I just arrived. That might've also been the case. Not recommending
