Royce Hotel and Casino Guide and Review

Located in Olongapo City, Royce Hotel and Casino presents itself as a dual-purpose establishment offering both leisure and entertainment. While its primary type is a casino, recent guest feedback largely highlights the hotel experience, providing valuable insights into its accommodations, dining, and service.
Key Hotel Highlights β¨
Many guests consider Royce Hotel a strong contender for family stays and celebrations, frequently praising its overall comfort and amenities.
Accommodations & Comfort π
The hotel is generally lauded for its rooms, particularly in the newer wing, which offer a premium feel and modern amenities. Guests appreciate the spacious, clean, and well-maintained rooms, often equipped with practical features like cabinets, seating areas, and tables. Essential comforts such as cozy beds, comfortable pillows, bathrobes, hair dryers, and complimentary coffee and water are consistently mentioned. The bathrooms are also noted for their excellent water pressure.
It's important to note the distinction between the hotel's two buildings. While the newer wing boasts updated facilities and a more modern appeal, the older building offers more basic rooms with simple amenities and often no significant view. Guests staying in the older section found it suitable for sleeping but perhaps not for extended lounging, though a golf cart service is available to the newer building.
Dining Experience: Breakfast Buffet π³
The breakfast buffet receives consistent praise for being excellent, with a good assortment and taste, especially considering the price. Even during busy periods, the staff's flexibility in allowing guests to use the adjacent cafe for seating is a convenient touch, ensuring a smooth dining experience.
Areas for Improvement & Guest Concerns β οΈ
Despite numerous positive points, some guests have highlighted areas where Royce Hotel and Casino could enhance its service and facilities.
Customer Service & Responsiveness π
While some reviewers commend the staff as "very accommodating," "polite, helpful, and always ready to assist," there are notable exceptions. Specific complaints point to inconsistent customer service, with instances of room service not answering phone calls promptly. More critically, some guests reported disappointing interactions with front desk staff and even pool lifeguards, citing a lack of professionalism and attentiveness. A particular instance involved being denied additional pool towels, which left a negative impression on the guest.
Hotel Facilities & Amenities π
The hotel features a gym in its new wing, but the pool is described as being on the smaller side. As mentioned, the older building's rooms are perceived as quite basic, lacking the "bells and whistles" of the newer sections, which might be a consideration for guests seeking a more luxurious experience across the entire property.
The Casino Experience π°
As a hotel with a casino, it's worth noting that the provided guest reviews primarily focus on the lodging and hospitality aspects, offering limited direct insights into the casino floor itself. Prospective visitors interested in the gaming experience might need to seek additional information beyond these specific hotel-centric testimonials.
Overall Impression and Recommendation β
Royce Hotel and Casino appears to be a mixed bag, offering a generally comfortable and well-appointed stay, particularly in its newer sections, with a highly-regarded breakfast buffet. It is often recommended for its pleasant rooms and overall experience, especially for families and those looking for a premium feel without an exorbitant price tag. However, potential guests should be aware of the occasional inconsistencies in customer service and the varying quality of rooms between the old and new wings. For a comfortable stay with good dining options, Royce Hotel is a solid choice, provided minor service hiccups don't deter you.
This is our familyβs favorite hotel. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the place is perfect for both celebrations and regular stays. The staff is very accommodating, and the property has a truly premium feel. Room service is also good, though sometimes they donβt answer phone calls promptly. Despite this minor issue, we highly recommend this hotel for its wonderful rooms and overall experience.
Room is big with cabinets, seats, and table available for you. Hangers, hair blower, bath robes, and the likes are provided too.Was not able to capture pictures of the breakfast buffet but assortment and taste is good for the price.
A beautiful hotel with a great balance of comfort and modern amenities! The new wing offers updated facilities like a gym, though the pool is on the smaller side. Cozy beds, comfortable pillows, and complimentary coffee and water add to the experience. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with excellent water pressure in the bathroom. The staff? Polite, helpful, and always ready to assist. A solid choice for a comfortable stay!
After reading the reviews, I can confirm the complaints about poor customer service. My experience was underwhelming from the start, and it's enough to make me not want to return. The front desk staff and the pool lifeguard were particularly disappointing, lacking the professionalism and attentiveness expected in a service-oriented hotel. And to add - its my first time to experience to be denied additional pool towels.
Royce Hotel in Clark was alright, a pretty standard experience if you're not expecting anything fancy. We stayed in the older building, and honestly, the rooms were pretty basic. Think simple amenities, clean enough, but definitely no view to speak of. It was fine for just sleeping, but not exactly a place you'd want to hang out in all day. Feel free to ride the golf cart or walk to the newer building. The free breakfast was a definite plus, though. They had a decent spread, and even when the breakfast area got packed, they were cool about letting us grab a table at the cafe across the way. That was actually pretty convenient. So, if you're looking for a budget-friendly place to crash in Clark and aren't too fussed about fancy extras, Royce Hotel does the job. Just don't expect any bells and whistles.
