Crown Games Club Guide and Review

The Crown Games Club in Hội An, Vietnam, primarily a casino, garners a largely critical reception from its visitors. While some acknowledge the inherent nature of casinos, many highlight significant shortcomings in facilities, service, and overall experience, often advising against a visit when compared to other establishments in the region.
Gaming Facilities & Equipment 🎲
The gaming experience at Crown Games Club appears to be hampered by the state of its equipment. Reviews indicate that the gaming machines are outdated and poorly maintained, with complaints of "brownish discoloration and screen burns." This lack of upkeep can significantly detract from the user experience, making the environment feel worn and neglected.
Staff Professionalism & Customer Service 👎
A recurring theme in feedback is the noticeable lack of professionalism and hospitality from the staff and security personnel:
- Unprofessional and Rude Demeanor: Staff members are described as generally "rude and unprofessional." One visitor recounted being "dismissed and vaguely directed elsewhere" when attempting to order a drink upon entry.
- Language Barrier: Several patrons noted that staff members, particularly security, often "don't speak English," leading to communication difficulties and frustration.
- Inconsistent Entry Policies: A particularly striking incident involved a guest being "refused entry because my wife’s clothes were, and I quote ‘too sexy’," despite similar attire being permitted on previous visits. This inconsistent and arbitrary reasoning left the visitor feeling "ridiculous."
- Lack of Basic Hospitality: Reviewers reported instances of poor service, such as being denied a chair at a blackjack table for over 30 minutes despite multiple requests, with no offer of assistance until a manager was involved. The absence of basic courtesies like greetings further contributes to a feeling of being unwelcome.
- Overzealous Security: Security guards are described as "over zealous," even restricting guests from observing the grounds while waiting for a taxi, insisting they "must stand by the doors."
Amenities & Player Experience 🍸
The club's amenities and services also fall short of expectations for a casino environment:
- No Free Drinks: Unlike many other casinos, Crown Games Club does not offer complimentary drinks to players. Beverages must be purchased, though a beer was noted as costing $1, which one reviewer found acceptable.
- Limited Drink Selection: The bar’s stock is reported as severely limited. Requests for common drinks like vodka, Diet Coke, and soda water were met with "we no have," with only beer initially offered. One guest had to point out visible bottles and cans to obtain other options.
- Futile Rewards System: The rewards program is heavily criticized, requiring a substantial investment of "$800 dollars for 1 point," with no staff member able to explain the value or benefits of these points.
- Smoking Environment: The indoor atmosphere is negatively impacted by the presence of many smokers, leading to a "horrible smell" throughout the premises.
Location and Alternatives 📍
The casino's location is considered inconvenient by some, situated approximately 5 km from the central My Khe Beach area in Da Nang. Given the numerous issues, many reviewers strongly advise against visiting Crown Games Club. They recommend exploring other establishments, such as "Hoiana" or other casinos in Da Nang, which are consistently described as "better-run" and offering a superior overall service and experience.
Overall Conclusion
Based on visitor feedback, the Crown Games Club in Hội An presents a challenging and often frustrating experience. The combination of dated facilities, unprofessional staff, limited amenities, and an uninviting atmosphere makes it difficult to recommend as a primary destination for gaming or entertainment in the region. Prospective visitors are encouraged to consider alternative casinos that promise a more enjoyable and professional environment.
The Crowne International Club in Da Nang was a thoroughly disappointing experience. The gaming machines are outdated and poorly maintained, with many exhibiting a brownish discoloration and screen burns. The staff’s demeanour was notably rude and unprofessional, which is disheartening given the association with the Crowne Plaza brand; this establishment does not reflect the standards one would expect from such a reputable name.Upon entry, when I attempted to order a drink, I was dismissed and vaguely directed elsewhere, despite having my request translated into Vietnamese to avoid language barriers. At the bar, the limited availability was frustrating: requests for vodka, Diet Coke, and soda water were met with ‘we no have,’ and only beer was initially offered. It was only after pointing out visible stock—a bottle of scotch and a can of Coke—that I managed to obtain a drink. This lack of service variety and the staff’s unhelpful attitude made for a confusing and unenjoyable experience.Additionally, the casino’s location is inconvenient, situated approximately 5 km from the central My Khe Beach area. Considering the subpar service and facilities, I would advise against wasting time visiting this casino. There are better-run establishments in Da Nang; the Crowne International Club is, by far, the worst I’ve encountered.”
very unprofessional security, staff don’t speak english refused entry because my wife’s clothes were, and I quote “too sexy” when asked why all they can say is sorry.. ridiculous reasoning. 2 times there with similar clothing is fine with a different security guard, never coming back again.
Everyone should know casinos are designed to take money.. exchange cost me $2 for $100 usd, that's fine. Paying for drinks? $1 for a beer, that's fine too. I played blackjack, lost my money, but that was my fault. All in all, fun to experience an Asian casino, recommend.
Simple Awful. If I could give this place a zero I would.Unlike the other casinos this establishment gives no free drinks.Horrible smell from so many people smoking. Only one person spoke English. Rewards points system is futile. Spend 800 dollars for 1 point!!!And no one in the building was able to say what value that one point was worth.Stood waiting outside for a taxi so thought we would look and admire the grounds only to be told by the over zealous security guard that we are not allowed and must stand by the doors, wow how pathetic!!There are MUCH better casinos in Danang, please take my advice and discover them upon your visit here.
The worst casino, I have been all around the world, I stood on blackjack table more than 30 mins, asking give chairs 3 times got denied, til the end, I asked someone seems manager grab me a chair then I told“ black jack 7 spots, only five chairs “,You can have a feeling here, if you want to come, want go just go, ridiculous place, customers same also can feel so weird that you let customer standing in front of table, without any greeting, may I offer you a chair, maybe casino doesn’t have chairs to offer customers sitting, just wanna leave chairs standing there for decorations, next time if no chair, I suggest you need to bring your own chair from outside,Better just go hoiana, better place better service.
